Hi Gill and all The Viking Festival ;D, which takes place in February, normally ran for 10 days or so. This gave us a choice of two weekends on which to hold our spring reunion. Unfortunately next year the festival is a 5 day affair : 14th-18th February. Looks like the reunion has one date and one date only: FRIDAY 16th - SUNDAY 18th FEB 2007.There's no point it trying to make plans at this stage as the programme has not been published yet. Will place a link to info once it appears. However some items for consideration: a). dinner on the Saturday night (booked in advance) b). various daytime (Sat/Sun) activities in group booking c). Saturday evening programme for those who wish All food for thought! Please add to the list, but lets just keep it as simple as possible. As usual, if you decide that you can/want/have to come, book your accommodation early. If you need info on this, look to previous posts under last reunion. Hope you have all recovered from Saturday night PS. Sorry, posted this also at end of other do-da! Muppet!

All sounds good to me...
I should be able to wrangle another visit to Hungate etc by then. I also have an idea who may be doing lectures (and when), but that would be telling.

Hi ness, count me in for the viking weekend, have some ideas of my own (A.)A Visit to a prothestics factory(spare body parts mainly legs) (B.) A pub visit we havent done one for a while. (C.) Neals suggestion of the Jumbo on the saturday night is a good one as we can get quite a few of the clan in then. (D.) some sort of event connected with the viking weekend if there is such a thing on the saturday day time providing that most people are corpus mentus, not hungover awol or ill or all 4. Please let me know if and when the dates are confirmed,so i can book it. One more idea! providing the weather is good i could give a display of michael flatelys Celtic Tiger! dancing entitled "Preston girl thingy" lol Lots of love Noel.xx...........................

Now it is 2007 how are plans going? Are you all sorted for a place to stay?
Site (the Hungate site) should look pretty good by then - plenty of opportunity for a visit.

Hi folks, Well, they've put up the details of the festival for this year! www.vikingjorvik.comThat said, we'll have to wait for the full programme a while longer. So far we know: Friday 16th (if you can make it up early) - Viking Arts Day. Saturday 17th - Viking Invasions. Sunday 18th - International Day. As Toby said, 'get booking' as accommodation for this weekend goes fast. Not to be missed - great fun! Not enough Vikings wandering the street though! Hopefully you'll get to see that black-haired Norwegian Viking! La, la, la Will keep you updated...

I presume that this is for accommodation at the university campus? Reservations can be made and paid for by phone on 01904 434870 OR Email: reservations@york.ac.uk with your requirements and they'll get back to you by phone. You can find all this on their wed site: www.york.ac.uk/uni/conf/accom/bookinginfo.htmIf this wasn't what you wanted to know... well, you do now ;D
