Belated Happy B'day from me too, Toby. We can include you in the June celebrations, it wasn't your fault you were born in the wrong month. I'm just back from a few well-earned days off, mostly spent sitting in traffic jams on motorways and digging in gardens - main finds= weeds, though there's a bit of flinty stuff that I'd like to think has been worked... As for the June 15th reunion- I'LL BE THERE! So even if it's just you and me, Ness, it'll be a good one (though I think there may be one or two other stalwarts to help the thing along ) Also looking forward to the week which includes (if memory serves me right for once) 'Happy Sack of Rome' day. I'll look out my T-shirt. G

Looking forward to seeing you, Lynne, on the 15th! I'll being the bags, you bring the pen and we'll see how many we can get through ;D I am so looking forward to seeing everyone. Probably won't get much time on-site this summer so this will be my main opportunity to see you all - in one place anyway. Will try to harass you all for 'beer o'clock' and the odd day. You better not find anything good or I'll be upset! And no v****g p*****y! You can now add to this, no medieval metalwork either . YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! ;D

Sorry for delay in replying, Lynne: it'll be lovely to catch up with you and find out how you're enjoying uni life! I am now booked for the June reunion ;D - travelling by coach again and staying at the uni. A group of us were toying with the idea of trying to find somewhere in town where we could all stay, but there are relatively few single rooms, and it was less effort to go for the uni again, though it's not that good value for money. I hope the house moving thing is going well, Fee! Good luck to all of you who have exams Gill

Thank you Gill, much luck is going to be needed I think. My last assignment went in yesterday and i've only got two exams to worry about now. Probably won't be able to make the June reunion as, assuming I'm not called for a Viva, i'll be on my hols and happily reading fiction books for once. Have fun, look forward to seeing you this summer,
Ellen x

I can exclusivley confirm that I will be coming to the reunion-sponsorship deal pending. Not booked anywhere to stay yet but will probably be the uni again. Have just heard that the TUTANKHAMUN exhibition is returning to London after 30 years in November this year-this is the full monty with all the gold stuff including the incredible gold masks-if anyone fancies going, give me a shout.

I'd heard that they would be the only objects missing from the collection. However, an opportunity not to be missed. I'm all up for it. I can managed a day away from the dissertation to see thisSee you in 11 days time. So looking forward to it! ;D

I thought the whole lot of stuff was coming over to London.I would love to show you round London Mandy-perhaps it would be like you showing Elena round Newcastle-sort of cultural exchange-get your visa and passport ready chuck.(Joking) Paul-not sure if the Tutankhamun stuff is coming over to Aussie-"if you can't drink it what use it it anyway"(allegedly). Thats Paul and Mandy insulted-anyone else will have to wait until the reunion. With love Ged

Just checked the website re King Tutankhamun and it says"the golden mask is NOT ALLOWED to leave Egypt"so it wont be there but loads of other stuff will be including one of the inner solid gold coffins, which Howard Carter took a chisel to in an effort to remove it from another larger solid gold coffin-the whole sarcophagous was liberaly laved with resin to seal its contents. Went to Valley of the kings and its so hot there thay you arrive at about 7 in the morning to avoid the real heat-got to drive? the ship across the Nile for 5 minutes-also got to repair one of the temples. If you have been out there youll know everything is available for Baksheesh. Off to Italy this year for hols-i can actually afford it now-visiting Verona for the opera at the first century arena and maybe Danila who was in York about three years ago.Byee ~Ged

Ged, Thanks for your kind concern and consideration. BTW you owe me a pint or ten (along with half of Northern England I'm guessing) so now that you have a steady income are you going to clear your past debts this summer ? Hooroo.
