Hi. I'm an amateur archaeologist at best...but probably more accurately an "armchair archaeologist" I do love the history and archaeology of the US and the Near/Middle East and read all I can. Glad to find another place where archaeology is loved. So I read what I can on the subject and do some work for the Biblical Archaeology Society. What y'all are doing here is great!

Hi RickJ Nice to see you on the forums. At least with being an "armchair archaeologist" you dont get so wet and muddy! What is it about the US and Near/Middle East archaeology you like in particular? Im afraid im rather boring and predictable, its all about the Romans and Egypt for me hehe! Might we tempt you to come digging in York? LOL

I am in Ohio, USA so do do some digging here...but there is little to nothing since there were so few here long ago... but as a history lover I recognize that archaeology is a necessary partner of history so I like to read and learn what I can about the US. ...and as for Near/Middle East, my love of the history and archaeology of that area is because it helps me learn more about the the history of my Judeao-Christian faith. I never miss an episode of the Naked Archaeologist or Digging for the Truth on TV...and read all I can about the latest finds published by the Biblical Archaeology Society.
