Elena, Ben and Pam (thank you for the help Pam) have been setting upon site, with a little bit of input from me.
The tarmac and hardcore are great fun to remove, well if you like using a breaker they are.
We have got loads of birds, a few squirrels and a cat that have been coming to inspect the progress (so like St Leonard's).
Inside the buildings we have got a lot of space to use and will be able to have separate rooms for storage. It is starting to look very tidy in there.
I look forward to seeing the first trainees on the 20th, less than two weeks from now.
Cheers,
Toby

Hi, Glad the prep is going well, but equally happy not to have to help shift all that hardcore. With bookings filling up, too, all we need now is the weather. Not that I'm a pessimist, but do we have any non-collapsible covers, just in case!

covers getting shifted tomorrow, along with many many scaffold clips. Will probably have to get some new tarps but will wait 'til we get a better idea..
(a thank you to Ged and Ant helping out today).

Me and Ant spent a brilliant day setting up for the dig and exploring the site. We met Ben and Elena and they will be great fun to work with.We also met the site cat and think a good name for it would be "Abbey" (This is St. Mary's Abbey after all).It is possibly the only creature on site that has not been stuffed [you will see what I mean when you get here.] I just hope Abbey likes double sausage sarnies and Yum Yums. Any other suggestions for the cats name etc. will be appreciated see you all soon,Ged

If you have seen 'How clean is your house'..... just imagine Ged and Ant going round cleaning up the buildings....
I did not see any feather lines gloves, sequins or pink dusters (but I was not looking very hard). There was a level of discussion about what sort of cleaner was the best?!!?

I have to admit to a bit of a 'girly moment' whilst cleaning 'The Lecture Room' with Elena last week. I actually suggested we could "brighten up the place" with a couple vases of fresh-cut garden flowers and a bowl or two or pot pouri..... A couple of hours with the breaker bar and a shovel and the girly moment was but a distant memory..... ;D
