For all us office bound people, any chance of some updates from the dig?
I am bored rigid and need something interesting to read!

I wrote the site diary for the first week on Saturday. I presume it'll go up on the web pages when someone has time to put it there.
The dig is going well though; a relatively quiet first week with some good archaeology coming through.

I'll look forward to the site diary for archaeology news, but I guess this is the place for gossip. Did anyone organise the ghost hunt outing, how did the first bbq go (did Ged get to it?) and which is the nearest pub to the site? Only 5 more weeks for me to wait. Gill

Thanks for the info, Toby - not quite my idea of how gossip goes, so perhaps it needs a female's touch. Suppose you're too busy, Fee? Anyone else there that I know? York withdrawal symptoms need feeding .........

Toby, dear, that addition of the assurance that the reference to you cross-dressing is a joke perhaps betrays a hint of insecurity? Rest assured, it would take more than that to make you look anything other than very masculine; however, how you choose to dress when on-line is strictly between you and your computer. Do Pam's instructions on how to post pictures mean that you will now be able to show us the T-shirt design? I need to see the colours you have used for the design in order to select the ideal shade of shirt for me (it's a girl thing, you wouldn't understand ....)

If Toby emails me a .jpg of the design I can post it on the forum....

T-shirt wise if you ask ZIK ZAK they wil do it in any colours
The design is with them and they were looking at putting a page up with it on... but I am not sure if they have done so yet?
So there are no fixed colours, as was the case last year. You choose the type of garment you want, in the colour you want, the parts of the design you want in the size you want. You can even get it printed on the to front of a pair of lime green Y-front pants if you want!!!
I will try to get a JPG to Pam when I can, but I am busy struggling to get out of this pale blue velvet thingytail dress..... (joke(joke?))
(it will not let me write c o c k tail - it just inserts thingy!)

So very very bored, with no digging to do, I merely sit in the most peculiar chemical company in the world as I watch my cat lick all her fur off. Any more dice in Trench 4?

I'm bored too. I've had a whole one week off digging and sun-bathing, swimming, reading and sleeping have started to get dull now. In fact I so missed archaeology I've actually started an assignment that isn't due in till the end of september (i'm usually a last minute person). Looking forward to doing things like debating the colour of mud again.

No more dice I'm afraid Luiseach; lots of water though because it rained today Your presence is much missed by everyone on site; no-one else has quite the same sense of humour. I'll try to get around to emailing you sometime, but it may not be until September when I'm back at my beloved house. Ellie, greetings. Debating the colour of mud is indeed a task to look forward to. Especially if it's of the invisible green variety!! Thanks for covering me to go home for the last weekend in August; it may restore some of my sanity. Looking forward to seeing you again

Awwh, thanks Fee! By "no-one else has quite the same sense of humour" I take it you actually meant "no-one else is in quite so much danger of being committed". But I shall treasure the memory of my cricket lessons til my dying day. ;D

Just seen the diary update for week 6 sounds like there were lots of exciting finds last week, sorry I missed it. Not so sure about this week it's been pretty wet in York. Has rain stopped play very much, or has Toby been cracking the whip and forcing you all to work despite the weather. :-)
