Hi Claire Just come along ready to learn something and to HAVE FUN! You might want to look through some of the online weekly diaries for the St. Mary's and St. Leonard's excavations, if you want to acquaint yourself with the kind of things that might be going on. But as this is a new site, there will be continuity as such, though many of the activities (excavation, recording, finds processing) will be the same. There's certainly nothing you need to plan ahead for, though I can recommend getting your own trowel! All the best - Rick

Hi Rick, ;D
Thanks very much for the advice, I'm certainly ready to learn new things and have fun! And I have already purchased a shiny new trowel, can't wait to get it dirty haha!
I'll have a look through the diaries, good tip so thanks again!

Hey Claire,
The thread called 'Archaeology Live 2006 York Minster Dean's Park' has some advice on it; I think it's pretty general but may be of some use. Otherwise I'll second Rick and say have a look at the web diaries etc.
Looking forward to meeting you in the summer.
Take care, Fee
