... and I get to wear my lovely new yellow and blue lycras... hmmm, rowing makes archaeology look almost glamorous!) Em, To be totally honest I don't think that most archaeologists (myself included) would look very glamorous in blue and yellow Lycras. Go on everybody, try and picture it. Good luck with the race, I hope that there are lots of good downhill sections (joke!) As for the summer, just wait and see what we have got lined up for things.. you never know.

.....cos I collect my new dog this week and i carn't leave her alone just yet. Toby you would love her, a 2 year old choc. lab. she is a rescue dog and so sweet, needs a bit of training, just like Ged, and yes it will be dry with a little bit of wet, you know what I mean Toby. Go on then just rub it in. It seems that everybody in the whole world will have a dog before I am allowed one. I shall just have to keep filling the void in my life with lots of expensive boys toys/power tools/computers etc.. You could always bring the dog up and it could stay with me! I am sure the cat would love the company.

look after my Ged for me, Hey, Mel, don't be so possessive - there are a whole lot of people out here that want a share! Sorry you wont be there this time - the memory of Barbara's arrival last November will stay with me for a long time! Looking forward to seeing people again, meeting new friends and finding out about the plans for the summer. Gill.

Ged - you'll have to draw me a map of how to get to Ye Olde Starre Inne - most of the York pubs are merged into a blur in what passes for my memory, and you know I need looking after or I may get lost .......... By the way, I haven't forgotten that I owe you money / beer - there's an incentive to make sure I find the right pub!

Hi Guys and Gals, Alan (Sandford) and I will be coming up on Friday now, hopefully arriving around 5pm. We have rooms in the Uni. Where is everyone meeting on friday night? Is the Olde Starre the one where the Canadian airman jumped to his death and came back as a ghost, if so I think that I remember where that was. Looking forward to seeing you all soon ;D and sampling some more good Yorkshire brews

SHAGGY DOG STORY EPISODE TWO.. The Dog Goes Back!!!! Long story, with lots of tears. Toby like you I am dogless once more, lets just say the rescue center was not quite as honest as they might have been about poor, brain damaged Lara. Never mind, anybody want to buy a dog bed? Have a great time at the weekend one and all. Mel x

Mel sorry to hear about the woof dog.
I am sure there will be another one that will want a loving home (even if I am not allowed to give it one!!!!). Was it a well known animal shelter?
I am not a specialist but have been told that people never seem to want an older black mutt, so there are usually loads of them around. Could you cope with a lazy, scraggy, black. kitchen floor hoover...... (that actually sounds like a description of my cat).
Better luck noext time.

I hope that nobody had a headache on Sunday? I managed to get the shopping done and watched Liverpool win on TV so it was a good day for me.
It was good to see everybody who managed to make it, a big hello to those who could not.
I look forward to seeing people in the summer

It was lovely to see so many friends (and make some new ones) at the reunion. Just sorry that I didn't manage to have a proper chat with several people that I was hoping to catch up with (I don't think I managed even a 'hello', Ben). I haven't completely given up the idea that I may be able to make it to dig this summer, so you might not have seen the last of me yet. Gill
