Can anybody think of any 'good' 1970's comedy?
I can only think of the 'Goodies'............
Well since we are on the subject I have been finding LOADS. (not that I am smug or anything! (some of you will use other names)).
In trench five we had a couple of really well preserved coins come up on Monday whilst cleaning up. One may be very important as it appeared to come from the floor/spreads inside the multangular tower.
Tuesday (in trench 5) we had a load of roman glass from a big vessel. One fragment was over 80mm square. We also got a really imressive sharpening stone.
Today things got even more interesting in trench 5. There were some large fragments of samian with base to rim sections, one of which was half a small bowl. There were further glass fragments (moulded/decorated), Alloy fittings and a really large object??!??........ Something really interesting was a small bone disc, just like a token, that has (as yet fully seen) writing upon it.... I can't read Latin?!
The gods of shiny stuff have been smiling down on us/me.
If anybody has questions about other bits of the archaeology..
tough...
Only joking! Just continue the thread or start a new one. We will try to get an answer to you a.s.a.p.
Cheers

Glad you found all the stuff I left in trench 5 Toby. I thought you would enjoy digging them up seeing as you had to miss the beginning of the dig ;D now we know why the Victorians and that Millar bloke chose to dig by trench 5 Mel

1970's comedy shows- wasn't there one called Monty Python's Flying Circus? I believe it was moderatly succesful.Although it did suffer from going out on BBC 2 it had a few minor film spin-offs,Holy Grail, Meaning of Lif,Life of Brian etc. To be serious,it was incredible at school the day after the broadcast, everyone would have memorised the last night's episode and be chanting it to each other. The Parrot sketch etc. More memories at the reunion i hope. Also there was the thankfully forgotten,Love Thy Neighbour, man about the house,Terry and June,Cannon and Ball, How we all laughed. see you soon Ged
