Dear potential placements,
There have been quite a few placement applications to date. As the dig will start in June this year the site team intends to select placements at the beginning of March, to give everyone a chance to make arrangements. If you are thinking of applying as a placement (and you meet the selection criteria) please apply as soon as possible.
Of course the excavation spots are the most in demand, so the competition to get one of those places will be fierce. The finds-related placements are no less interesting and more useful for all-round fieldwork training and CV purposes, so think seriously about applying for the latter if your finds/environmental experience is a little thin or if you are considering working in public archaeology.
Good luck!

Just to let prospective placements know that I've been digging at (very occasionally) sunny Whitby the last 6 weeks or so, hence the lack of news regarding placements. I'll sort out the placements by the end of April.
Could Helen Halliday and Alexandra Coyne please re-send their forms. Their forms were incomplete, and I can't contact them because their addresses are unintelligible.
BTW, the dig ends on 5th September (it's on the homepage!)
