Sorry for the blatent advertising, but if anyone is planning a trip to the east coast, we have a couple of good speakers lined-up this season. Naomi Fields - Fiskerton, votive offerings at an Iron Age causeway (Tuesday 19th October) Peter Robinson - Viking burial excavation at Adwick-le-Street, was she a princess? (Tuesday 17th May 2005) Non-members welcome and only £1 admission! More info on our website: www.nelalhs.org.ukFor the officionado's of rock, Nazereth will be performing at the Winter Gardens, Cleethorpes on 30th September. Now, did anyone come to any firm conclusions on the dark stain along the top in trench 3? pc

Colin, feel free to plug your group's activities here; you never know, there could be St Leonard's trainees in your area who haven't come across your group yet.
I think the dark stain in Trench 3 you refer to must be the turf stacks and blocks, which appear to have provided the rampart with some sort of structure. This feature has been reported on the web diary.
