I really want to sign up for a week's digging this summer - but I don't have a clue about when would be the best time to go. I could do pretty much any of the weeks available - has anyone got any tips on when is the best time?
Also, just out of curiosity, how far do people come to join the dig? Is it quite a local thing, or do people come from much further afield as well?
Thanks for any advice!

Lucy,
The best time to go is when it suits you best. The way the site will be this year it could be that trainees are working on archaeology 1000 years apart immediately next to each other.
People come from all over the world (Australia/New Zealand to Just round the corner). And we have all ages from 16 to 80+.
