Been a busy month..... Finishing up in the house where Ben was working we sampled any possible floor type deposits This is it just before we started to remove the timbers. I like the wooden threshold at the back right hand side, it fits within the footing for the steps. Lifting the timbers was relatively simple Steve was on hand to help at all times We got a pump in to help us finish off pitzilla Danni is stood inside the wicker section we dug in the summer yorkdig.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photos&action=display&thread=344You can see the larger wicker feature that was below Taking that apart was not too difficult Earlier than that there was a rectangular pit with a timber post and wicker sides Again it was well preserved Finally behind that there was another wicker sheet that had been slid in to support the sides The house Artemi was working on has proven to be very complicated The back end seems to have been open at some point and a series of occupation/use deposits have gone down The building has had round wood posts that were ripped out when it was demolished The other side has been robbed during demolition but you can see traces of a plank surviving The building right at the bottom corner (where Hannah worked) has taken shape Luckily we have had the cat helping us!
