Hi Blackstar! thanks for the number i will try to phone them myself i know you have done already but the more people that phone to enquire the greater the possibility that they may relent.I mean its ridiculous i have been coming up for six years now and have never had any problem before and there are loads of parking spaces v near or a short step away from halifax college

Has anyone come to any decisions about what to do regarding parking at the accommodation? Or heard anything different from the uni?

As far as i know as we are unable to get hanging permits (they will not give them to us) I'm afraid that means either paying £5 per day and meter feeding, not bringing a car or finding some other alternative place to park for free which is unlikely to be near the university accommodation. Not sure if kmb has heard anything different. I'm taking advantage of one of my parents friends garden hopefully.

Hi, I've also been on the phone to the university and they will not issue us with any permits they say it has to go through our orgniser.
So it doesn't look like we are going to get any.
I'm really p****d off about this coz people have manged before and not had an issue. So it looks like i'm bringing four weeks of gear down on the train coz i'm paying daily!

I have rang the uni regarding this and they are supposed to get back to me on Monday. I will update people when I hear.

Thank you Toby. If we could get them it would be brilliant.

I second blackstar's thanks, Toby. I was getting concerned but, like Noel, have been just too pushed for time this week to get in touch with the uni and would be extremely grateful if you can sort something out for us drivers (even if we're being a bit environmentally unfriendly).
