Mel, all i can say is sorry. I didn't want you to find out about it like this. I saw us having a meal someplace nice and then when the waiter asked what we wanted for main course I would have said lamb please and he would have brought Baabara in on her little lead,Why can't you share me-Neal never bothered about things like that.Sorry, sorry, sorry,Ged

Caroline,I should be arriving in York about lunchtime on the SATURDAY and hopefully meeting up with some of my sponsors (joking) for a few drinks or a meal. All is really nebulous at the moment and hope to firm things up nearer the time. I'm sure others will be arriving on the friday and you can link up with them. Any ideas on where to meet etc yet-I think Ye Olde Starre Inne might be a good gaffe -reasonable food and v good beer also really central- on Stonegate.Once there we can plan our startegy for the evening session-suggestions please.Ged

I hope you manage to book accommodation, I had trouble finding somewhere. Looking forward to seeing you, and everyone else who makes an appearance, on Friday or Saturday. Take care, feex

Hi, its Little Lady-Boss Em! I'm coming to the reunion and look forwards to some nice mad archaeologist company. I'm getting trench-withdrawal symptoms.
I think I'd better not ask about Ged... sheep...?!
What's the format of the reunion (if that doesn't make it sound too organised) - meet up at specified pub?
I have a history coursework project to research while I'm in York. My history teachers went slightly overboard on the title and seem to want to make life as complicated as possible for me: To what extent has archaeology made the main contribution to a study of the Benedictine community in Medieval York? Any ideas?
See you soon xx

Hey Neal,
I'll be in York Friday night, not sure what time I'm arriving though. Let me know what you'll be up to and where you'll be and I'll no doubt come along for a banter. (Though if it involves paddling pools, ill fitting speedos and the Deramore, count me out)
See you in a couple of weeks, feex

Well I finally got round to booking my train tickets today! I should be arriving around 8.30 (I think off the top of my head) on Fri- so count me in for any welcome drink(s). The hostel I'm at is fairly central, so I should be around fairly rapidly after arriving. Mind you- I am coming by train! I don't havve a great track record of on time train journeys

Hey Neal,
Any more info on the brewery tour, i.e. cost, where it is and how long it takes?? I have Christmas shopping plans but Ben is dreaming of beer: I'm hoping the two will be compatible!!
For Friday, the Red Lion sounds good, but I'll have been driving all afternoon so may be knackered. I'll get your mobile number nearer the time if that's ok and let you know if I'll be there and what time.
Take care, Fee

Hi fee
Beer or Shopping? thats a hard decision Ben ?
ye fee the brewery tour is in York, its in the train station area, its about £4.50ish maybe 5 squid and is takes up about an 1,1/2 to 2 hours long (a smile from Ben, 2 hole hours away from shopping) and best of all generous beer sampling ! oh yes!
who said i cant organize a p*** up in a brewery!!
sounds good for Friday, bye for now Neal

Hey Neal (and all other forum readers), I have no doubt Ben will relish two hours away from shopping (it's not like I'm making him come with me!!) - especially if sampling of beer is involved. Rick may also be interested, though I've not mentioned brewery touring to him yet. On a more general note, where are people meeting on the Saturday?? Ye Olde Starre Inn at lunchtime-ish is the last place I (and Gill who asked me this question) remember being mentioned, so I just want to confirm details. This is especialy important as Gill is my shopping accomplice I must away to reading about causewayed enclosures and long barrows. Take care and I'll see you soon, feex
