As a fairly regular Radio 4 listener, I've got used to switching to CD as soon as the kids/yoof programme Go For It ! comes on. Can be bit Blue Peter on Acid at times However, a MUST LISTEN is this weeks programme as it stars our very own Toby Kendall talking some kids through the new DIG ! centre in York..... It is really good. ;D You can listen online - just go to www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/gfi/?focuswin and click the link under the pic of Toby and the kid. Can't imagine why Toby failed to mention it himself actually.......

Listened to the first bit and revisited the site to complete my aural experience (Toby, you sounded so excited....), but link now incorrect. It's been overwritten by last Sundays show (unless Toby is masquerading as Dr Who - well I suppose he is a Time Lord in a sense.....). Had a rat around the site but I couldn't locate the dulcet tones of one Mr Kendall esq. Did anyone take a copy?

Although radio 4 is my almost constant companion, I missed it too as I if I don't turn 'Go 4 it' off quickly I find myself hurling anything handy at the radio to shut up the irritating presenter. So, if anyone has a copy or can find a link, I'd like to hear it. I see that there have been several articles in the press about the decapitated skeletons found last summer and am looking forward to the Timewatch programme on April 21st - will be interested to know what you professionals / insiders make of the prog as from the write-ups it sounds as though they will be selling a particular interpretation. Roll on the summer and my next fix of being in a hole in the ground in York (for some reason I keep getting stange looks when I reply to the question 'are you going away this summer'). Gill

Speaking of the media - Toby, how come the pages about the 2006 dig on the YAT website have been removed? I wanted to show them to a colleague today, but they were nowhere to be found, only the e-mail address to be contacted for more info...

I keep getting requests as to where people can listen to it...
Unfortunately it seems like the opportunity has passed and I am safe from further jibes.
I remember who you all are.... you never know we may have the press, with cameras and microphones, in the summer....... I now know where to point them.

Right You, Toby! I've just emailed the go4it site to see if they have a back catalogue. I guess we wait and see what happens. Watch this space. Failing that, I'm sure that those who heard it can all get their heads together and come up with script of the show as to what we heard and remember (or imagined - hehehe) Hooroo p.

Why are people so pro-active about making me look foolish?!?! (no answers please)

Not sure where the looking foolish bit comes in. I honestly thought the prog was good Toby - you sounded enthusiastic and professional and it was good publicity for Dig! and YAT. Stop being so modest !! Bear in mind this comes from someone who has been interviewed and appeared on ITV Calendar news wearing a silly hat and been filmed in some very unflattering positions (NO jokes please) for Time Team. I'm hoping the shot filmed with the camera 2 inches from my face whilst excavating a skelly at Driffield Terrace will not appear in tomorrow's Timewatch programme but if it does I will capture a still from it and send you the .jpg so you can 'return the favour' in some way ... Anyway it could have been much worse - you could have agreed to that interview on "Ghost Towns - Live"..... ;D ;D

Toby kept his Radio 4 debut (surely it won't be his last appearance) so quiet, I'm not sure anyone at YAT knew about it!

I have been told that I have a very good face for radio.
They were too fast for me to catch hold of them!

Toby, You're off the hook (so far) here's the response from the go4it team: ___________________ Hi Paul - glad you enjoyed the programme. (?? I didn't say I enjoyed it ) We only have the listen again facility for up to six days after transmission so that is probably why you may not have been ble to listen again. We only keep library copies and and unfortunately cannot provide listeners with a copy. I am sorry about this but if you are still in touch with Toby Kendall he may have done a recording which you might be able to listen to. Many Thanks. Abi Awojobi Producer ________________ So unless someone knows someone in the BBC or unless we make up our own script, It looks like we'll need your copy of the tape Toby Hooroo P.

"I am sorry about this but if you are still in touch with Toby Kendall he may have done a recording which you might be able to listen to."
I'm told that he listens to it morning and night, and during lunch hours on site. It's also required listening for all YAT newcomers at interviews and the like...
