Kerry... Wow! somebody who wants more matrix work!!! (most people seem to try avoiding it). I will look into what we can do.
This summer we are looking at doing a weekend finds course linked with the excavation. It may be possible to do more specific finds based training as we move on with the project - and start to amass a good volume of material that can be looked at.

Hey, I quite enjoyed the History of York in 10 minutes! Toby, if this site is going to be as big as you say, and we're going to have all these finds, a weekend finds course sounds great! With this Roman burial, I can't wait to see what's there (I'm a sucker for mortuary practices and funerary archaeology). Can't wait to see you and everyone else this summer!

We will be open for bookings in the next week, advertising actively at that point, and the new website should be sorted by the end of the month. People are bound to ask what sort of archaeology they will be digging? What dates should they come to dig a certain period? Can they dig a specific thing? etc... Because the site is so large and we are well underway with parts of it already it is impossible to tell. There is archaeology from c.100 AD through to 1930 AD across the trench..... it will all get dug at some point. When we get closer to the start of the summer we will be able to tell more about what and when, so just make sure that you keep checking the website for updates. www.yorkarchaeology.co.uk/www.dighungate.com/The yorkarchaeology website is currently being updated and the dighungate site (specific to the Hungate (York) Regeneration project) will go live soon.
