So we need a nice simple, non-offensive, design for the T-Shirts next year. Ideally it wants to be linked with what we have been finding in Block H. If you cannot post pictures just e-mail them to trainingdig@yorkarchaeology.co.uk and I will put them up for you. Cheers, Toby

Toby, what has been found in block H? I only know for sure what I dug, and some of what others in my area found, wouldn't have a clue on what was found in the other areas for the time I was there let alone all the other finds made on site over t'other weeks. Will there be some sort of online catalog of the "important" finds? Hooroo.

If you wanted to go back to the local landmark idea, the most obvious one I can think of is the Black Swan... I'm not going to embarrass myself and attempt it, but a swan shouldn't be too hard to draw after the 2007 dog

Hey! A swan is just about the ONLY thing I can draw!! Of course... I learned a trick to it when I was about eight years old, but it's tried and true for sure. You just make a really long '2'... then join the bottom up like a swan's belly.
that's the extent of my talent.

Hello all. Happy New Year and all that. Keeping in the style of hounds, Submission #1 Soooo many titles for this one but the immediate one that springs to mind is "Toby and the Placements"

Toby! You are sooo thin skinned.... Is this better, or do you want longer nails? Maybe the title should be "Toby and Ged"?

Chas,
It is a bit flexible, but will have to be sorted by the end of June.
Paul,
You are just trying to get me into trouble.

can't believe nobody has thought of the cell block H connection - how about "Hungate Cell Block H" and a picture of an archaeologist locked up?
okay, i know how naff that sounds! forget it...

In the absence of any other ideas and tying in with your idea of using something found on site, how about a drawing of either the corbel face from the cordwainers: or the Edward III penny that Paul found, like this one:

It looks like people are leaning towards the corbel.....
Anybody want to have a stab at creating a nice, continuous, line drawing (.eps file if possible)?
Go on - you know what I mean don't you?!
