I have just been told that we will be having a training dig in 2005. It is on a new site and will probably only run for one year. The site is in town and is a relative unknown as to the complexity of the archaeology (any shiny things will be found by me (joke)).
Because of the timescale and the research objectives we will have to do a lot of digging, and I mean a lot of digging. There is unlikely to be a viewing area for the public, so therefore more time to dig. So if you get my drift... there will be a lot of digging taking place.
I have to sort out publicity etc... So please spread the word about an exciting opportunity from june-sept.

Fantastic news about the dig this year! How's that for timing? - The pc's been down for months and as soon as i get it up and running again i find out that we can all come and play after all! Just out of interest, i have seen the spring meet mentioned a few times but does anyone know when it's likely to be happening yet? I would love to come up and say hi to everyone again but have to plan ahead these days! Speaking of T-shirts Ged, i still haven't heard about mine!! I think i'll give up hope and try again for one this year!!! Hope everyone is well. Donna xxxxx

Sorry Donna,Ged here.I have promised you two t-shirts and you shall receive them. I am speaking here on behalf of Northern Scum Plc- "There have been cash flow problems back at the warehouse and we have had the auditors in (very painful). Your order will be dealt with as soon as possible". Seriously though ,please tell me which ones you want and I will e-mail the designs for you to print off at home. There is a new design available for 2005 but you will have to wait for the spring meet (April or May I think) to see it.Anyone else may pre-order now. See you at the spring reunion.

I know all the shiny things are already yours, but can we maybe find some not so shiny things!!! bit of glass, bit of monkey, you know the sort of thing. We must sort out the spring meet, how about after Easter, cos it is early this year, April in York sounds nice. Mel

Greetings from Copenhagen - fantastic news about the 2005 dig! Looking forward to getting some York dirt under my fingernails again... Hope you won't mind having a Dane in the trenches again this year. Perhaps we may even hope for some viking stuff this time?

April sounds like a good time for a gathering of like minded people or just those who like a drink and a gossip! Someone has just suggested to me that we organise a bonfire party too. I did point out that it may be a bit early for that but it could be something to think about! Thanks Ged. Put me down for one of the 2005's and we'll call it quits. Truth be told i can't even remember what the others were like! Feel free to email them accross anyway if you want to though - i'd like to have a look. Donna

Woo Hoo!
Count me in for the fun of digging holes! I have missed it sooo much...
When can we book, when can we book...
Are there any definite details for the reunion yet?

Just where would we have a fire?!?! I can think of lots of things I would like to burn....
A re-union in April sounds cool to me. I know somebody who is 30 years old on the 9th of April. Some people think they are older, but they do 'work outside' ahem!
Booking details are not yet finalised, so just e-mail me to express interest etc.

It's fantastic news about the dig... need to get my hands dirty after months of being in the library!
I'm afraid I'm not sure whether I'll make it to the reunion. I have finals in May, and the library is turning into my new home at the moment...
see you all in the summer Rachxx

Spring meet thingy will be weekend of 9th/10 April ?? ;D (I had no idea that the 9th is a 'significant' date when I suggested it above, honest !)

The 9th and 10th sound fine to me. All I have been thnking about is just who is the birthday person-does the name begin with B - Toby? And what is the prize for guessing correctly?
