The Minster sounds good to me! And it also means that everyone can meet 'Harry' too ;D He is such a adorable dog and totally worships His Lordship! (subject of 'dog' rather a sore point at present as we had to have Murfy put to sleep last week . My face still resembles rice pudding! ) Hungate: What I've seen, and that's not alot, apart from some very excellent 'goodies' is really impressive, but you'll see for yourselves at the weekend. Gill, I'll be staying at the Uni for Friday night ! hehe! ;D Really looking forward to seeing everyone then! ;D

The Minster sounds excellent for beer o'clock, but WE MUSTN'T FORGET ABOUT FOOD! I really want to be in a fit state to enjoy Saturday too! (Noel, it may be your job to ensure I eat something, ideally not kebab-in-the-gutter ). So that's three of us at the uni on Friday night - any more out there? Ness - so sorry to hear about Murfy; I'm sending you a big hug (there should be an icon for hugs). Looking forward to hearing about all your term's exploits. Phill - do you know if you'll make it for Saturday yet? Not long now!

Hello everyone - just thought I'd give my apologies now, as I am going to be missing the reunion. I had hoped to be able to make Friday night, but the fates are against me it seems, and 21st birthday shenanigans are afoot on both the friday and saturday. Hope everyone has a fabulous time though, and hopefully there will be another reunion I can get to sometime!
Ali xx

Hello all, Minster sounds good to me for friday although I'm not entirely sure what sort of time i'll be in town for due to my sieve like brain. Ness - really sorry about Murfy, many sympathetic hugs. Looking forward to seeing everyone

If I do make it over i may well be asking for a floor to sleep on cos it will be last last minute !!!! I'm sure that can be arranged, Phill - we have ways of twisting arms.... ..... I do hope you can make it. Emily - When you arrive, text anyone you know who is at the reunion. We'll all try to maintain some sort of communication, I'm sure it will work out fine, York isn't so big! Ellie - glad you can make it on the Friday. See you all soon ;D

Emily - When you arrive, text anyone you know who is at the reunion. Does anyone want to volunteer a number to text? It's not that I don't have any friends...just that I don't have any of their numbers *sigh*

Hi Emily, I'll send you my number via a message on this forum if I can remember how to do it (I'm letting you know as I didn't notice that I had my first and only message for a month ). What sort of time do you expect to arrive?

Got your number - thanks!
Not sure when I'll be turning up. My parents have yet to decide if they will use the excuse to go shopping. If they do then I will have a lift but probably not turn up until lunchtime. If they don't then I'll be getting the train in, hopefully around 10.30ish. I can let you know once they decide what they're doing (tusk tusk)!

It's possible that no-one will be up as early as 10.30am on Saturday (depending on Friday night!). In the past, small groups have met up for lunch on Saturday and then gone shopping or done their own thing. The main event is the pub in the evening. I'll try and make sure I know what's on offer!

Hi Mandy and others, Just got back from a wedding in Aus. Bloody freezing! Singapore is going good and I'd like to suggest that the next reunion be held here. (Guaranteed good weather as it never gets below 20 degrees) Alcohol is very expensive though, and that might curtail Ged or Neil. I'll donate my two spare bedrooms for accomodation. They even have an archaeological site set up for public viewing, It's quite well done (Toby, I'll take some snaps and send to you for interest sake). If anyone ever wants to lob in, just send me an email and I'll pick you up from the airport. Hooroo

Hi everyone, Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the reunion (I've got various choir committments, one of which is to sing grace for a load of Cambridge fellows and get a free fancy 7 course meal - not a bad deal really). So sorry about that, I was looking forward to seeing everyone, but have a great time.
I'm off to Africa on 9th January, I'm so excited! I'll be sure to post about what I'm up to and do my best to make you feel jealous, hehe.
Update on university situation: I have unconditional offers from York, Durham, Sheffield and Reading, I'm in the process of writing an essay for Cambridge - 'How can archaeologists understand the role of women in prehistoric societies and why is it relevant or necessary to do so?' (bloody feminist archaeologists...) and have an imminent interview of unspecified date.
Also, commercial archaeology - not a whole bunch of fun. Well, I haven't got on site yet because the big project in Bury St Edmunds is being held up by contractors, even though they've already dug up almost the entire car park for service trenches. I get very odd looks from people when I peer wistfully into the holes, can't imagine why! I'll be digging holes in Africa by the time they start doing anything. Sites and monuments records are quite interesting though, and the people at Suffolk CC are pretty nice.
Must get back to this darn essay. Is feminism compatible with post-processual archaeology? I don't get it!
Take care all, enjoy the reunion, Em x

oooh. I heard the John the Evangelist of Archaeology talking about processual archaeology with a load of other old men (no women except a stroppy one from the audience complaining) which seemed to suggest that processualism is all about the men and post-processualism all emotional and floaty hence the more women. That wasn't really what you were after, was it?
